Effectively moving water in a boat is more than just technique and muscles. Be ready to challenge yourself to be smarter, stronger and more resilient on whatever boat you’re paddling in 2021.

  • Pre-hab – address overuse injuries (specifically shoulder and lower back/SI)

  • Flexibility – Myofascial Release, Stretching, Muscle activation

  • Explosive Power – Plyometrics, Medicine Balls, Kettlebells, Bands, Kinetic linking

  • Strength – Functional Strength, Upper and Lower Body

  • Conditioning – Game day ready conditioning

 

Session is taught by Strength Coach Terence Yu. Terence has been paddling for 7+ years, with the
Western Dragon Boat team and New Dragons Racing
Club. Terence holds a Master’s Degree at the School of
Kinesiology at Western and was Western University
Athletics Varsity Strength Coach. He is a multi-gold
medalist for Canada at the World Nations Dragon Boat
Championships in 2013 (Szeged, Hungary) and 2015
(Welland, Canada). Terence is also a bronze medalist at
the Club Crews World Championships in 2014 (Ravenna, Italy). Currently, he is the coach of Western's Dragon
Boat team for 5 years (2 years as a strength and
conditioning coach, 3 years as a water coach).

 

2020 Session Dates

Winter: December 12 to February 20th

Wednesdays at 6:30pm and/or Saturdays at 9:00 AM

Cost: $150+tax

Equipment Required:

Good - Good internet connection, Web camera enabled phone or computer, space

Best - Pullup Bar or TRX (other apparatuses will be described), Bands, Foam Roller and Mat
